No repair too small, or too big
|
| |
| SigNetMusic.com
offers a very comprehensive repair service from removing small dents or freeing up
seized valves to a complete rebuild, silver plating or
re-lacquering of your instrument. We use professional
repair services located near to our premises for those repairs that are
beyond our capability.
The service is for all Woodwind and Brass instruments only at the
moment. |

How are we different from a
small local music shop ?
|
| |
| The most obvious
difference is that unless you live near to us you can't easily walk in and
get a quote for the repair on the spot - perhaps even get the the small
dent or sticky key fixed. You won't be too surprised
to find that most small local music shops don't offer these services either - we
all rely to a greater or lesser extent on other companies who specialise
on repair. So, apart from the "convenience" of
walking to your local music shop - why not let your fingers do the walking
and complete our simple quote form
below.
The key difference then is that we
will have to communicate by email/phone before you send the instrument to
us. Perhaps we will need to see at least one photograph
of the damage before we can quote. Every situation is
different - give us the opportunity to quote.

& Collection Advice |

Remember it is your
responsibility to return items very well packed.
If an item is further damaged in transit you will be responsible.
Please follow the guidelines below to minimise any damage in transit.
-
Do
not return any goods without contacting us in advance and starting the
repair quotation process.
-
When
returning the instrument please empty the case of all other items -
mouthpieces, valve oil, mutes, reed boxes etc - they can cause
significant damage to your instrument if they become loose in side the
case during transit.
-
You
are strongly advised to return the goods in the original packaging -
however if months or years have passed before you return the
instrument for repair then you won't have the original
packaging. In this case we recommend you obtain a
strong box, that is 16cm larger than the instrument case on all
dimensions.
For example if you are shipping a Trumpet back to us with a case
size:
55cm x 24cm x 16cm then you need a cardboard box of
size:
71cm x 40cm x 32cm
You should then fill the void on ALL sides of the instrument case with
either Bubble Wrap or Polystyrene
beads/flakes or if none of these are
available then use balls of screwed up news paper.
You should enclose a covering letter INSIDE the box - clearly stating
YOUR name, address & telephone number.
Use strong box tape to seal the box. If you're using our
shipping service then a label will be supplied by the
collecting company, if not then label the box clearly with our
address:

-
Use
a well known shipping agent/courier service (such as Interlink or
Registered Post) and pay for additional insurance to cover the value
of the goods whilst they are in transit.
If you wish we can arrange
collection of the goods but all costs will be charged to yourself and
you are still 100% responsible for adequate packaging of the goods.
-
Keep
all documentation and receipts from the shipping company – just in
case !

If you wish we can
arrange all the shipping for you for a single charge - it works like this:
- You pack the instrument as
described above. You
are STILL responsible for the safe and secure packaging of your
instrument. The collection company will not collect
parcels that in their opinion are not sufficiently well packaged.
- You notify us that your
instrument is ready for collection.
- We arrange with our chosen
shipping company to collect the instrument from your house or place of
work. The collection should be the following
afternoon - but this will be confirmed at the time.
- It will be delivered to us the
following morning.
- We start the repair process.
- Upon completion of the repair
you will be notified and we will arrange shipping back to your chosen
address.
We have negotiated special pricing
with our shipping partner which includes the collection of the instrument
from yourself, delivery to our premises, and subsequent re-delivery back
to yourself. This can be achieved with a single payment
of £25.00 incl VAT. This price
includes full in-transit insurance in both directions - so your instrument
is fully protected ! This will be charged to your
credit card at the time we agree to collect your instrument.
This price is ONLY valid for
UK-Mainland customers - pricing for other locations is agreed on an
individual basis. |
